►  Where are you located?
The shop is in a wonderful old train depot in Shakopee, Minnesota.  Shakopee is a suburb of Minneapolis, approximately 1/2 hour from downtown and about 20 minutes from the Twin Cities Airport.

 

►  What is the history of the depot?
The Shakopee railroad depot was built in 1909 and provided valuable passenger and freight services to the area for many years.  When passenger trains were discontinued across the country, the depot was closed and remained vacant for roughly 30 years.  Seven years ago the depot was purchased by Jerry & Terry Harvieux from Prior Lake, Minnesota.  Everyone at the quilt shop will always be grateful to the Harvieuxs for preserving this grand old structure.  Eagle Creek Quilt Shop Inc. purchased the depot in December of 2003.  Terry Harvieux made the beautiful stained glass window in the main room of the depot (it is our shop logo).

►  The most frequently asked question: "What kind of cat is Martha?"
Martha is a purebred Exotic.
 

►  How old is the business?
Eagle Creek opened for business on June 28th, 2001.
 

►  How large is the store?
The quilt shop is 2400 square feet.
 

►  How many bolts of fabric?
ECQS carries roughly 3000 bolts.
 

►  What are the entertainment options in the area?
Shakopee is a major tourist area, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.  Valley Fair amusement park, Mystic Lake Casino, The Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and Canterbury horse racing track, are just a few of the attractions right in the city.  We are also within 20 minutes of the Mall of America and the Minnesota Zoo.  The Chanhassen Dinner Theater is only 8 miles away.  (click here for a link to the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce)
 

►  What is Eagle Creek's return policy?
We are unable to accept returns on cut fabric, patterns or books unless there are defects.
